Step 1:  Contact me
Let's talk and see if we're the right fit for each other.  We'll talk session type, location, and all the things you're hoping for during your session.  Unlimited consultation time is included, so ask as may questions as you'd like.  Contract, deposit, and session details are settled and your session is booked!

Step 2: Your session
Just relax!  I love people, and will make you feel comfortable, connecting with you and putting you at ease.  This makes it enjoyable for everyone and expressions come naturally.

Step 3: Your images
Within two weeks of your session, your lightly edited proofs will be ready to view in a custom online gallery; from there you will choose images for me to thoroughly edit and deliver to you digitally.  I work with a photo lab that provides beautiful photo prints and products that are available for purchase as well.
Time and Location
My default session time is during GOLDEN HOUR, the 1-2 hours after sunrise or before sunset when outdoor light is typically most mellow, flattering, and warm.  Your session time and place will be discussed via phone or email and chosen to suit preferences.
Location-wise, I have lots of ideas and welcome yours as well!  Many of my favorite session locations have been suggestions from clients.  Sessions fee includes a mutually agreed-upon location within an hour of Plymouth, Michigan, but I love to travel... so let's talk about what you're picturing!
If you choose a location I've never been to, I drive out there to scope it out or show up before our session starts to become familiar with it.  My ideas start way before I get there, though!

Frequently Asked Questions (this section is under construction):
Why don't I offer the whole gallery of images with a session?
The only time I provide all of the best of the session images is when I shoot an event.  It all has to do with the way the editing is being done.  For an event, I do a lot of "batch" editing, which edits numerous images at once, and I suspect that photographers who offer all images edit in this way.  There's nothing wrong with this, of course, it's just a different way of doing things.  The whole gallery is available for purchase for an additional fee, and that fee depends on the size of your gallery.
I edit each image individually, since every image needs something different artistically or technically.  This takes more time.  When you hire me, you're hiring my artistic eye, technical knowledge, and time before, during, and after our session, along with all of the other things that go along with this adventurous job!  Most of my time is spent editing, which I love and value.

Why do I encourage our session time being around sunrise or sunset?
When the sun is low and close to the horizon, the light is mellow and glowy, bringing out colors beautifully.  The 90 minutes closest to sunrise and sunset is called "golden hour" for a reason... it really does make the best images.  I'm flexible with timing but golden hour is definitely encouraged!

I look forward to working with you!
